As with all previous Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, you can enter passwords in order to receive certain items or special dungeons. This feature is accessible after you have completed Chapter 2 of the main story. These passwords are given through various magazines, stores or online services and can come in either the classic password format, or utilising a QR Code for you to scan in with your Nintendo 3DS' camera. | |

Pokemon Special Qr Codes
In Tom Nook's store in Animal Crossing, the player can choose to ask for and say passwords for items. This was meant as a way to share and send items if the player and their friend can't meet each other in person. However, codes were released online and became an easy way to get rare items, such as golden tools, gyroids, and even fish and bugs. Players are only able to tell codes up to 3 times.
